HTC One Max rumored for October 17th unveiling

The HTC One Max has cropped up in a myriad of leaks, with things ranging from user interface to design to hardware and back all being leaked in an assortment of speculations. Now word has surfaced via Chinese website ePrice that the handset will be unveiled on October 17th, leaving us with a bit over two weeks of waiting before the official details are dished out.

The HTC One Max is expected to have a 5.9-inch display with a Full HD resolution, as well as a finger print sensor on the back and a high-resolution 4-ultrapixel camera around back. Many tips have pegged the HTC One Max as harboring a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, a step up from the HTC One's Snapdragon 600, giving a nice boost in power to go along with the other specs.

Other tips have surfaced, however, pegging the One Max as having a Snapdragon S4 1.7Ghz processor instead. Regardless, it is anticipated the processor will be accompanied by 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage space. Earlier this week, screenshots surfaced reportedly taken by a tester of the handset, who said he rooted it and subsequently posted up a couple shots of its new camera UI.

According to this tester, the square on the back is indeed the anticipated fingerprint scanner that has cropped up aplenty, and reportedly the "recognition rate is very high, there was no awkward situation [with using it]." Per the screenshots he posted, the camera will offer HDR video recording, three levels of blemish correction, and a beauty mode.

Reportedly, the handset will be priced at 23,900 NTD, which is approximately $810 USD.
