HP TouchPad lands for pre-order starting at $500

If you want a tablet but aren't interested in the iPad 2 and don't want anything with Android on it, one of the few other options that will be coming soon is a WebOS tablet. Whether or not HP TouchPad tablet ends up being worth the money remains to be seen. It is the first tablet to run WebOS and we already know almost all there is to know about the device. This time last week, the TouchPad landed on video giving us an idea of how well it works in the wild.

The TouchPad has a 9.7-inch screen, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, WebOS 3.0, and a front facing camera for video chatting. We spent a bit of hands on time with the tablet in the past and it was an interesting tablet with some potential. We reserve judgment until we can do a full and proper review though. If you don't need a full review to know you want the TouchPad, you can now pre-order the tablet.

The tablet is up for pre-order at $499.99 for the 16GB version and the 32GB version is up for $599.99. You can order the tablet right now at Newegg, Best Buy, Amazon, B&H Photo, TigerDirect, and Staples. Will you be pre-ordering the tablet or are you holding out to hear some real world user stories?
