Last month, HP took the wraps off a gorgeous new detachable laptop running Chrome OS. Called the HP Chromebook x2, this model features a tablet that connects to a keyboard using a magnetic hinge. The model runs the latest version of Google's OS that doesn't require a keyboard, putting it up against Apple and its newest iPad model.

The HP Chromebook x2 is the first ever detachable Chromebook, according to the company, offering users both traditional laptop and tablet functionality in a single device. The company packs notable specs into this model, including a Quad HD display and USB-C, 8GB of memory, and a full-size keyboard.

Other features include B&O Play speakers, a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera, up to 256GB of storage not including the 100GB of Google Drive cloud storage, and a microSD card slot for convenient file transfers (or more onboard storage if necessary).

The Chromebook x2 has an attractive aluminum design with a ceramic white color; the keyboard has a leather-like texture and Oxford Blue color. HP announced plans to release the Chromebook x2 on June 10, however it has appeared for preorder now on Best Buy's online website.

The model starts at $599.99 USD (32GB/4GB) and has a shipping date of June 7, which would put it a few days ahead of HP's schedule.
