Have a look at Dishonored 2's brutal launch trailer

We're just a couple of days out from the release of Dishonored 2, and right on cue, Bethesda has released the launch trailer for the game. The trailer sets the stage for the game, which takes place 15 years after the original Dishonored. In Dishonored 2, you'll play as either the assassin Corvo Attano or Emily Kaldwin as Emily attempts to reclaim her throne, which was taken from her by Delilah, the main antagonist of the game.

Though you'll be able to play your way through Dishonored 2 without killing a single person, this trailer certainly doesn't express that. Instead, we're greeted with a brutal show, as the player character effortlessly dispatches a number of people in a variety of painful-looking ways. In fact, for a stealth game, there's isn't much stealth to be seen here.

Of course, showing stealth gameplay footage wouldn't be nearly as exciting as showing action, so we can see why Bethesda and developer Arkane Studios went this route. Rest assured, though: the stealth mechanics so many loved from the first game will be making a return in Dishonored 2, even if we don't get to see them here.

Another noteworthy thing about this trailer is that a good chunk of it seems to be in-game footage. The game looks excellent from a graphics perspective, so now we'll have to see if it can follow in its predecessors footsteps and provide an engaging story as well. Can Dishonored 2 knock it out of the park like the original, or will it suffer from a sophomore slump?

We'll get the chance to find out soon enough. Dishonored 2 will unlock for folks who pre-ordered tomorrow. For everyone else, Dishonored 2 launches on Xbox One, PS4, and PC on November 11.
