H1Z1 mobile port and "revitalized" PC game revealed

Battle royale game H1Z1 will be getting a mobile release, according to NantWorks, which has announced a "strategic investment" into the company behind the title, Daybreak Game Company. The mobile version of the game doesn't have a name yet, but we do know it'll be created by a joint venture between NantG and Daybreak. A mobile version of EverQuest is also in the pipeline.READ: H1Z1 arrives on PS4 with new weapons and more

The upcoming mobile games were revealed by NantWorks as part of its investment announcement. The aforementioned joint venture will be tasked with creating mobile versions of both EverQuest and H1Z1, the latter of which is available on PC and PS4. The game has about 12 million players on the PlayStation 4, according to Daybreak, the company behind it.

As with PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds and Fortnite, H1Z1 is a battle royale game that tasks players with surviving on a shrinking map, eliminating other players and surviving to be the last person standing. As with both games, H1Z1 brings its own unique elements to the genre.

The joint venture will also henceforth be in control of — and responsible for managing — the PC version of H1Z1. As well, NantWorks states that it plans construction at the LA Times Center, where an event space and production studio will join esports arenas. This facility will eventually be the venue where NantG esports leagues are established for various games, Z1 Battle Royale being first.

Unfortunately, the company didn't reveal a planned launch date or timeframe for Z1 Battle Royale, a "revitalized" version of the game for PCs.
