Google adds 13 new languages to voice search

Google has been offering its voice search functionality for a while now. In fact, the search giant offers voice search via an application for the iPhone as a competitor to Siri. The feature was also a Siri-like competitor that has been on Android devices for a while as well. With Siri speaking multiple languages, Google has added 13 new languages to its voice search.

The new languages added to the Google voice search app include Basque, Bulgarian, Catalan, European Portuguese, Finnish, Galician, Hungarian, Icelandic, Norwegian, Romanian, Serbian, Slovak, and Swedish. With the addition of these 13 new languages, Google's voice search now supports 42 languages total. That means that voice search aficionados in 46 countries are able to use the app.

Google still in the process of rolling out the update and expects the full rollout to be complete by next week. The app supports only one language spoken at a time, which really makes sense. Who would speak Spanish and Finnish into the app at once?

The new languages will be available in the language settings area once the update is completely rolled out. If you're not familiar with the Google voice search app, you can check out the video below for more details. The app is actually pretty cool.
