3. Asphalt 8: Airborne
One of the most visually spectacular racing games on any mobile platform, Gameloft's masterpiece continues to shine on the iPhone 6 Plus. Have a peek at this freemium game right this mine.
4. 80 Days
It's a strange world you'll be experiencing with 80 Days, an innovative tale of world travel through design a graphic designer would be entirely proud of. It's like Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego were resurrected for another shot at glory – this one'll cost you a cool $4.99 from the iTunes app store.
5. Monument Valley
A fantastically understated game that pits you against your better judgement in an Escher-esque universe made of flat planes. It's just gorgeous – and it'll cost you $3.99 USD.
6. Beach Buggy Racing
Like many games on this list, this game is also ready to roll for Android. Here you're diving in with a free kart racing game that benefits from Apple's Metal upgrades for graphics.
7. Prime World: Defenders
What good would this list be without at least a couple of castle defenders? This game is entirely free and is ready to roll for the iPhone 6 Plus in high definition.
8. Modern Combat 5: Blackout
Another Gameloft entry? How dare we! This game is the closest you're going to get to full-powered first-person-shooter action on a mobile device. Ready to roll for $6.99 USD on the iTunes app store.
9. Plunder Pirates
Inside Plunder Pirates you'll find strategy in a water world the likes of which you've only ever seen in film form. This game comes from Rovio's publishing label Rovio Stars – and it's great for being Free.
10. Epic Zen Garden [interloper! not really a game!]
Made by the folks at Epic Games to showcase the graphics prowess of Unreal Engine 4 in collaboration with Apple's new Metal API. It looks amazing and, since it's made to be a show-off, it's also free on iTunes.
