Galaxy Note 7 Leak Details, Release Date, Price, Variations

Images of the Galaxy Note 7 have been leaked alongside the next version of the Gear VR virtual reality headset with USB-C. These images come from NWE via their leak name OnLeaks – generally trustworthy for this sort of thing. Of note here is the fact that while these do very much appear to be final official renders, Samsung has not released any info as such – not until August 2nd! The Galaxy Note 7 appears here with a curved-edge display only.

While we've seen multiple instances of test models for the Galaxy Note 7 with a flat display, it would seem now that the question of there being two versions of the device is once again in question. It could be that the test version uses a flat screen because of ease of manufacture, while the final version has only a curved display – requiring no real difference in software, only touch panel and display corrections.

According to the same source as the images you see here along with recent anonymous sources, this device will come with the following specifications:

• Price: 850 Euro – that's around $950 USD right this minute – but considering the cost of the Galaxy S7 in Europe right now at around 620 Euro while the same device is $670 USD in the USA, we can expect a price closer to $800 USD – that's very close to the full price of the Galaxy Note 5 at launch – $792 USD for the 64GB version from Verizon.

The new Samsung GearVR is 207mm wide compared to the latest version at 198mm. The new version is 122mm tall while the latest version is 116mm tall, and the new version is 98.5mm deep while the last version is 90mm. This version is just a bit bigger.

The new GearVR works with a 110-degrees view (with a Galaxy Note 7) compared to the 96-degree view of the most recent GearVR. This new version is – somehow or another – also compatible with the Galaxy S7 as well as the Galaxy S7 Edge, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus.
