Fortnite On Nintendo Switch Is Looking More And More Like A Sure Thing
It really, really seems like Epic is planning to bring Fortnite to the Nintendo Switch. There have been a number of leaks that have claimed as much, and today, we can add another one to the pile. This latest one comes to us from the South Korea's Game Rating and Administration Committee, which has apparently approved the Switch version of Fortnite for release.
A new listing on the GRAC's website (as outed by a GRAC Twitter bot that posts when new admissions are approved) plainly references both Fortnite and the Nintendo Switch, leaving little to imagination even if you can't understand a word of Korean. These stops at government agencies are generally indicative that an announcement is on the horizon, though that isn't always the case.
Further supporting the notion that we're close to a Fortnite Switch reveal is an interesting document that first leaked out yesterday. This document, which was uncovered by Kotaku, lists Fortnite as one of the Switch games Nintendo will be showing off at its E3 booth in a couple of weeks. Additional sources speaking to Kotaku and other outlets have confirmed that this document is legitimate, so the evidence that a Fortnite port is on the way is definitely piling up fast.
As far as gaming rumors are concerned, all of these about Fortnite's impending jump to the Switch are particularly easy to believe. Fortnite is one of the most popular games around at the moment, and Epic seems interested in porting it to as many platforms as possible. The game is already available on PC, Xbox One, PS4, and iOS, with an Android release happening sometime this summer.
At this point, it seems pretty safe to assume that Fortnite on Switch is happening. The only question now is when will it be revealed – is Epic going to handle the announcement itself, or will Nintendo reveal it during its E3 showcase? We have a feeling that we'll find out soon enough, so stay tuned for more.
