Fortnite earthquake destroys Tilted Towers' most ill-fated building

There's a particular building in Fortnite's Titled Towers destination that has terrible luck, and it just succumbed to yet another Epic surprise. The game has experienced a series of earthquakes, each seemingly stronger than the last, causing large fissures to form on the island's surface. The cracks have moved closer to major game locations, and the last one of the season has caused substantial damage in Tilted Towers.READ: Fortnite Season 8 leaks and teasers: Pirates, dragons, and bananasFortnite's earthquakes were a surprise that arrived earlier this month, though they were fairly anti-climatic at the start. Players noticed small breaks in the island's landscape following the first few quakes, noting that each subsequent round of shaking brought new damage to the island.

Titled Towers has consistently been a source of rumors among gamers who are positive the destination will eventually be obliterated. That hasn't happened yet, but Epic has repeatedly trolled its players by destroying a particular building. The destination has fallen and been rebuilt multiple times, but it never survives long.

The most recent earthquake caused a crack to grow beneath the structure, which promptly crumbled and disappeared. In its place is a new set of rubble with no signs of the (briefly) restored, polished shop. It doesn't appear any other buildings in Tilted Towers have been destroyed, but there is an impressive crack across the city.

Epic will release the Fortnite Season 8 update at 4AM ET tomorrow morning, bringing a bunch of changes to the game's island. Though no one knows exactly what it will bring, the new season is expected to add dragons, caves, and pirates to the world, as well as volcanoes and possibly a large banana.
