Ford Shows Off All Star Performance Explorer Sport Ahead Of SEMA
Earlier this month Ford announced that it would be focusing heavily on SUVs and crossovers at SEMA this year. Ford plans to bring 28 different customized Edge Sport and Explorer Sport SUVs to the show. The company has circled back and offered up more details on some of the SUVs including the All Star Performance Explorer Sport pictured here.
This SUV has some power modifications with a MagnaFlow performance exhaust and a Vortech front mount intercooler. The chassis has a 2.5-inch Traxda lift kit. Wheels are ADV.1 Wheels ADV10R 20x11-inch units shod with Toyo A/T II 305/50R20 tires.
Stopping is upgraded with Baer Brakes 6S calipers and rotors all around. On the outside, the Explorer gets Axalta custom paint in a bronze hue and a THULE Canyon carrier basket for stuff. Wurton LED light bars are on the front and rear of the vehicle for more lighting on the trail.
Inside the SUV gets custom leather and suede upholstery, Sony component speakers, Sony amps, and an Optima battery. This SUV certainly has the hardware to spend some time off-road doing things in the backcountry. While the intercooler for the EcoBoost engine is upgraded, it's unclear how much extra power is produced.
