Fallout 4 VR leak reveals support for PlayStation VR

We've known since this past E3 event that Bethesda has a Fallout 4 VR edition in the works, though it was only revealed for the HTC Vive headset. That arrival is set to take place this upcoming October, but a recent leak reveals apparent support for PlayStation VR as well. The information comes via an alleged GameStop catalog that also reveals some other big VR games inbound for the PS VR.

The information comes directly from the PS VR Subreddit, where user 'Crisp_47' posted a picture of what s/he says is a GameStop catalog. The catalog page lists upcoming games for the PlayStation VR, listed among them being Fallout 4 VR, DOOM VFR, Skyrim VR, and No Heroes Allowed! VR. That seemingly lays to rest PS VR speculation (read: hope) about DOOM VFR, which was also revealed at E3 2017.

The image of the page (above) certainly appears authentic, and if it proves true, this will represent a massive leak on GameStop's part. No particular release dates — aside from 2017 — are shown on the catalog, though one would be reasonable in guessing that it'll land on PS VR around the same time it arrives on the HTC Vive.

As we learned back during E3, Bethesda has rehashed Fallout 4 to be, by all accounts, a great virtual reality game. Players will be able to explore all the nooks and crannies in the game, and some tweaks were made as necessary to best handle the VR-centric POV players will have. Check out the trailer above to get an idea of what it'll look like.

Meanwhile, there's the DOOM VFR game, which has been confirmed for the PlayStation VR on Bethesda own website, where it lists both the PS VR and HTC Vive as supported platforms. According to the company, this VR version of the game will have players combat demons as the last known human survivor...though you'll be within an artificial brain matrix. You'll need to battle the demons while restoring the UAC Martian research facility back to stability, a task that is easier said than done.
