Facebook for Android updated: Chat and push notifications

Facebook for Android has been updated, with v1.5 most notably bringing support for Facebook Chat and push notifications. The latter requires an Android 2.2 or higher device at presence, but Facebook Chat should work across all Android devices the app will run on, and supports background chat so that you can continue using other apps while holding a Facebook conversation.

There are also various bugfixes and other tweaks, but this does at least bring the mobile Facebook experience on Android a little closer to the generally more polished iPhone equivalent. You can download the app via the Android Market.
