Dell Japan have officially announced the Vostro 1220, the budget notebook we saw leaked earlier this month. The 12.1-inch 1280 x 800 notebook uses processors from Intel’s Centrino 2 range, together with the GM45 Express chipset, weighs 1.52kg and promises up to 9hrs runtime from the larger 6-cell battery option.
There’s also a choice of 160GB 5,400rpm or 250/320GB 7,200rpm hard-drives, a DVD burner and gigabit ethernet, together with WiFi a/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1. A webcam and microphone are integrated into the display bezel, plus there’s a fingerprint reader for security.
The Dell Vostro 1220 is being targeted at small businesses, and will be available in two colors: black or red. It’ll go on sale in Japan from today, priced from 79,980 yen ($838).
