Dell Studio notebooks launch with Blu-ray & multi-color options

Dell has announced its new Studio notebook range, and they've gone all out with color options.  Available in two screen sizes, 15-inch and 17-inch, the Vista laptops have up to an Intel Core2 Duo Processor T9300 (2.5GHz, 6MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB), up to 4GB of RAM, a choice of integrated Intel X3100 graphics or a 256MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650.  There's also some new Dell software that's debuting on the notebooks, including an OS X-like dock.

Called "Dell Dock", it's basically a shortcut menu with categories; there's also Dell Video Chat with VoIP and IM support (working with the integrated 2-megapixel webcam).  Storage is either a single 320GB 5,400rpm hard-drive or, in the case of the larger 17-inch notebook, twin HDD for a total of 640GB.  There's also a choice of slot-loading DVD writer or slot-loading Blu-ray drives.

Connectivity is courtesy of either a b/g WiFi card or a draft-n card; WWAN options are from Verizon or Sprint, and there's also Bluetooth.  The Studio notebooks will be available in seven colors and a unique pattern with four trim color options.  It's priced from $799 for the 15-inch model and $999 for the 17-inch.
