The Dell Inspiron Mini 10v has gone on sale, offering entry-level netbook performance for a budget $299 price. First spotted in Dell’s catalog last week, the Inspiron Mini 10v packs an Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz processor, 1GB of RAM and a 120GB 5,400rpm hard-drive.
There’s also WiFi b/g, a 1.3-megapixel webcam and a standard 3-cell 24WHr battery. The display is 10.1-inches and runs at a mildly cramped 1024 x 576; storage can be upgraded to 160GB for $25 or to a 16GB SSD for $30. A 56WHr 6-cell battery is a $30 upgrade, while WiFi draft-n is $25; Bluetooth 2.1+EDR is also $25.
Shipping is estimated to begin from June 1st, which is a little later than the original prediction of mid-May. As long as you hold off from the options list, the Mini 10v looks a reasonable, basic netbook for the price.
