Dark Souls: Remastered Is Available A Day Early (For Some, At Least)
Well, here's a happy surprise: it seems that Dark Souls: Remastered has launched a day early for some players. Originally scheduled to launch tomorrow, Dark Souls: Remastered has gone live on Steam today. We're not sure if someone on From Software's end messed up or if the developer simply decided to open the floodgates a little early, but we doubt we'll find many Steam users who will complain about this happy turn of events.
Unfortunately, the game doesn't seem to be live on Xbox One and PS4 just yet. Looking at the listings for Dark Souls: Remastered on both the Xbox Store and the PlayStation Store, we see that the game is still up for pre-order. With that in mind, this seems to be a PC-only affair (for now, at least).
People seem to be buying up Dark Souls: Remastered in droves, too. At the time of this writing, Dark Souls: Remastered has nearly 1,500 user reviews on Steam, but unfortunately, those appear to be mixed. There are some users who are really enjoying the remaster, while others are saying that cheaters have wasted little time in ruining Dark Souls' online mode for the rest of us.
So, if you're thinking of hopping over to Steam and picking up Dark Souls: Remastered for yourself, you might want to read some of the user reviews before you dive in. The good news is that Dark Souls: Remastered is fairly inexpensive on Steam, assuming you already own the original game. If you do, your price for Dark Souls: Remastered is $19.99, half off its full retail price of $39.99.
Just recently, we learned that Dark Souls: Remastered has been delayed on Nintendo Switch. While it was originally scheduled to launch alongside the other versions of the game, it now won't release until sometime later this summer. We'll have more information about Dark Souls: Remastered's Switch update when From Software shares more, so stay tuned.
