Dark Souls 3 DLC trailer brings forth the Ashes of Ariandel

Namco Bandai has announced the first expansion for the immensely popular Dark Souls 3, and it's given us a new trailer to go along with the reveal. Dubbed Ashes of Ariandel, this new expansion will task players with traveling to the frozen region of – you guessed it – Ariandel and uncovering what caused the land to become the wasteland it is.

Obviously, Namco is a little vague with the details, as it doesn't want to spoil too much of the story before gamers have the opportunity to experience it for themselves. With that in mind, Namco's announcement does promise that players will discover new weapons, armor sets, and magic during their quest to unravel the mysteries surrounding Ariandel.

Other than that, there isn't a whole lot to go on at the moment, though the trailer does its part in ramping up excitement. We get to see how bleak Ariandel actually is, along with catching a few glimpses at some larger-than-life enemies that will stand between players and the finish line. Have a look at it below:

Dark Souls 3: Ashes of Ariandel will arrive on Xbox One, PS4, and PC on October 25. The expansion comes with a price tag of $14.99, which isn't too bad as far as expansion pricing goes, but it's also worth noting that Namco is offering a season pass for Dark Souls 3, which includes Ashes of Ariandel and a second expansion releasing in early 2017 for $24.99. Will you be picking up Ashes of Ariandel when it launches in October?
