Conan Exiles: an epic-looking game that might be brutal

Inside the game Conan Exiles, users will find the ability to play for survival in a brutal wasteland. Only the strong will survive in a global arena where precious resources are few, and the law of the strong reigns supreme. This is not Mad Max. This is Conan. This is an open-world survival game “set in the brutal lands of Conan the Barbarian.” This game will be released in an Early Access manner starting this summer, and a “full launch on PC and console” will follow.

The trailer you’re about to see – a teaser, really, more than a trailer – will make you second-guess what you’re seeing. Is it real? Not really. Is it on the other side of the uncanny valley? It’s certainly very close if it isn’t.

“There is no better setting for an open-world survival game than the world of Conan,” said Funcom creative director Joel Bylos.

“Hyboria is a harsh and unforgiving land where only the strongest can survive while the weak are swiftly cut down. Whether it is hunting animals for food, fighting monsters and other players, or building entire settlements, we want to make sure players feel like they are really fighting to survive and prosper in the most brutal fantasy world ever.”

There’ll be more information on when the time is ripe! Behold!
