Carpool Karaoke: The Series arrives for Apple Music users on August 8

Apple has announced that its customers will soon have access to Carpool Karaoke: The Series, a show that revolves around celebrities getting in a car and having fun with others over topics that include music, comedy, and more. According to Apple, the series will be available to Apple Music subscribers starting on August 8, bringing them new episodes every Tuesday in more than one hundred countries around the globe.Carpool Karaoke: The Series is Apple's own original content, one of many original shows made by companies that are increasingly augmenting traditional television programming with their own content targeted at millennial-and-younger audiences. This particular series is made for Apple Music in particular by CBS Television Studios, according to Apple, as well as Fulwell 73.

The show has tapped Eric Pankowski as executive producer, and both Ben Winston and James Corden serve as the show's creators and executive producers. The series has many well-known celebrities on board as guests, including Queen Latifah, Shakira, Sophie Turner, Trevor Noah, Alicia Keys, Jada Pinkett Smith, LeBron James, and more.

The series is based on the hit segment played on The Late Late Show with James Corden, which Apple says will continue to feature the carpool segment. Not familiar with Apple Music? The company is offering new customers a free three month trial of the service, which if started today will still be active when the new Carpool series arrives in early August. Once the trial ends, subscribers will pay $9.99/month for an individual plan, $4.99/month for the student membership, or $14.99/month for the family plan (for up to six people).
