Canon PowerShot SX620 HS rocks 25x optical zoom and wireless sharing

Canon has unveiled a new digital camera called the PowerShot SX620 HS that is designed to offer lots of connectivity and high zoom levels in a compact package. The camera has a resolution of 20.2MP and has 25x optical zoom lens. That zoom lens is equivalent to 25-625mm in a 35mm camera. The camera body is small enough to fit into a purse or pocket to take with you wherever you go.

With high levels of available zoom, stabilizing the image is very important so that shots made at higher levels of zoom don't get blurry. An Intelligent Image Stabilizer feature helps to ensure that images are shake free in a variety of shooting conditions. Connectivity for sharing images includes integrated WiFi and NFC tech.

Those wireless connectivity options allow the sharing of images directly to a computer or other compatible devices including the Canon Connect Station CS 100. The 20.2MP CMOS sensor has DIGIC 4+ Image Processor to help with high quality images, even in low light conditions. The camera can also record 1080p full HD video. The rear screen is a 3-inch unit with 922k dot resolution and has wide viewing angles. A hybrid auto mode lets users record video for 4 seconds before an image is captured and combines the clips into a video recap of the day.

Smart Auto mode selects the proper settings for the camera based on pre-defined shooting situations for improved images. A creative Shot mode creates shots with artistic flair. Canon also includes a cool Auto Zoom feature that allows the camera to zoom in on subjects and keep them focused. The PowerShot SX620 HS digital camera will come in black, silver, and red colors with launch set for this month at a price of $279.99.
