Canon EOS Rebel T6s and T6i head up the new Rebel line
The 2015 Canon EOS Rebel lineup has a new flagship – the Canon EOS Rebel T6s. Canon has also announced the EOS Rebel T6i, the latest edition of the classic Rebel. The EOS Rebel T5i, SL1, and T5 will remain in Canon's market lineup as well. Both the T6s and the T6i work with 24.2-megapixel Canon CMOS (APS-C) image sensors, the highest resolution for Canon cameras amongst EOS models with APS-C format sensors. Both models also make use of the DiGiC 6, the newest in Canon image processors.
These models both work with several features equivalent to the 70D. These include an ISO range of 100-12,800 (H: 25,600), 19-point all cross-type viewfinder autofocus, and a 3.0-inch 1.04M Vari-Angle LCD touch panel display.
A first for the Rebel series, these two units work with 7,560 pixel RGB + IR AE sensors. Both units work with Hybrid CMOS AF III Live View/Movie AF, and both work with 5.0 frames per second still shooting.
"Clean" HDMI is supported here for the first time in the Rebel series, as is Full HD video shot at 60 frames per second. You'll also be able to shoot 1080p video at 24fps or 30fps if you do so choose.
Both built-in Wi-Fi connectivity as well as Active NFC are included on both units here, both new for the entire EOS system.
The big differences between these models are the pricing and the higher-end features. On top of the T6s you'll find the mode dial moved to the left to make way for the readout screen, allowing far more advanced number-crunching for the user.

The EOS Rebel T6s is made for "advanced amateurs and enthusiasts" while the T6i is made for slightly more casual users.
The EOS Rebel T6s and T6i Digital SLR cameras are scheduled to be available at the end of April 2015. The estimated retail price of the EOS Rebel T6s will be $849.99 for the body only, and $1,199.00 bundled with an EF-S 18-135 STM lens.
The EOS Rebel T6i has an estimated retail price of $749.99 for the body only, $899.99 bundled with an EF-S 18-55 STM lens, and $1,099.00 bundled with an EF-S 18-135 STM lens.
