Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 release for PS3, Xbox 360 confirmed

Activision has confirms the release of the next Call of Duty game for not only PC and current-gen systems, but PlayStation 3 and Xbox One as well. This is good news for owners of the previous-generation consoles who will increasingly see high-end games released with requirements above their older systems. PCs are safe, of course, just so long as they've got graphics cards able to take the power. These Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game will be ever-so-slightly different from their bigger siblings.

The following list of items will be true of the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. Note that while not all features will be available, these versions of the game will cost the same as their PS4 and Xbox One compatriots.

• Beenox Technology working

• Mercenary Technology working

• Cooperative play working (2-player teams)

• 4-player team cooperative play not supported

Sound reasonable to you? Also indicated by Activision was a Beta release of Black Ops 3 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. No Beta will be available for PS3 or Xbox 360.

The full release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will be November 6th, and some changes could be made before then.

BONUS: According to Activision, no Nintendo Wii U release is planned at this time. Or at any time in the future. It's basically just not going to happen.
