Breakfast In Style

The kitchen-gadget loving people over at Appliancist have given me some great ideas for my breakfast, courtesy of your (kooky) friends and mine, Hammacher Schlemmer and their madness-packed catalogue.  First off, for the space-starved traditionalist, there's this Back To Basics combined Egg & Muffin toaster, capable of not only toasting muffins, bagels or bread but also steam-poaching eggs (or steam-scrambling them, or even boiling up to four eggs at once) and warming meats – all you need to add is the home-made hollandaise sauce (if you use store-bought sauce I'll come round to your house and give you a deuced-good spanking).

Next up is the Baring Belgian Waffle Maker, a meaty piece of prosumer cooking equipment capable of turning out up to twenty-five 7-inch diameter waffles an hour.  With a clever rotating platter to ensure even expansion and browning, in-built thermostats to cook perfectly no matter what the browning setting you prefer, and non-stick plates for easy cleaning, you could quite easily get fat making far too many waffles.

The Egg & Muffin Toaster is $50 while the Belgian Waffle Maker comes in at $80, both from Hammacher Schlemmer.
