Blu Life 8 handset arrives in neon colors

Blu is back again with some new unlocked smartphones, among them being the Blu Life 8. With the Blu Life 8 comes a mid-range list of specs and a budget-friendly price, as well as bright neon colors not typically available with phones and a slim 7.5mm design.

The Blu Life 8 is a modest smartphone with a 5-inch IPS display offering users a 720 x 1080 pixel resolution. This is accompanied with a MediaTek octa-core MT6592 1.7GHz processor alongside a Mali450-MP4 graphics core. Memory comes in at 1GB.

The storage, as you might expect, is 8GB with a micro SD card slot for expansion up to 64GB. The rear camera is a common 8-megapixels with an LED flash, while the front-facing camera is 2-megapixels. Video with the rear camera can be recorded in 1080p at 30 frames-per-second.

Other specs are fairly standard: there's Bluetooth 4.0, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, GPS, FM Radio, WiFi Hotspot, and micro USB. Sensors are comprised of proximity, compass, accelerometer, and gyroscope. Rounding it all out is the Android OS, with the phone shipping with Jelly Bean — an upgrade to KitKat will be available in June, however.

The Blu Life 8 is priced at $199 USD.
