Big Lenovo Z5s leak tips 2019 Moto multi-cam

This week we've gotten a bit of a look at the next Lenovo smartphone, and with it, a tease of what's to come from Motorola. As Motorola is part of Lenovo, we've been able to look back and forth between companies to sort of gauge next steps in either company's smartphone strategy for the past couple years. Now, here with the Lenovo Z5s on the horizon, we're able to see how a future Moto device might go beyond the basics.

In the past half-decade, Motorola's been very good at a few different things. The primary greatness of Motorola's smartphone business has been in creating relatively low-cost smartphones with features that punch above their weight class. That's not always easy to do – especially in an industry where they've got competitors like OnePlus taking over entire countries doing the same thing.

NOW SEE THIS: BEHOLD, the Moto Z4 ODIN!

In the near future, it may be that Motorola extends its reach into the limited-release higher-end market. In the Lenovo Z5s, we see a device that's rumored to roll with a 6.3-inch display, a 3,120mAh battery, and three camera photo array on its back. This sort of three-cam setup has not yet appeared on any Motorola smartphone.

In addition, one poster for the event at which this device will be revealed features a gradient. Normally we'd not read too much into this sort of detail, but we're to understand here that this sort of coloring will play into the backside of the smartphone. That'll be a big trend in 2019, too, for quite a few phones from several big manufacturers. Invasion of the color gradients!

UPDATE: A whole mess of images were released (on purpose?) by Lenovo Mobile on Weibo just this morning. Have a peek at the lot, above.

According to Lenovo Group VP Chang Cheng, the Lenovo Z5s will be revealed in full on December 18th, 2018. It'll be revealed in China, first, and will most likely be released in China and a few other places around the world – but not likely inside the USA.
