Bethesda's The Evil Within Gameplay trailer terrifies

The following presentation is not for children. It's not for the especially faint of heart, either. Tango Gameworks and Bethesda Softworks present The Evil Within in an early gameplay trailer for PAX East weekend, showing off their vision for a horror game like no other.

Emerging from a crashed ambulance, our hero walks past a massacred goat. We must assume this has little to do with Goat Simulator, but never say never.

He walks forth then to a spooky mansion not unlike one you'd see Scooby and the gang headed to in an episode of Scooby Doo, Where Are You? This time our hero isn't invited by a friend, unfortunately, so he'll be facing off against more than your average masked trickster.

Waves of blood, mixed visions from light and dark locations, and more than one assurance that "there's something wrong with this place." The only thing especially surprising about this title is how 2013 the graphics look. Of course with an August release date, we can safely guess that everything will look a whole lot better by the time the game is released.
