Audio-Technica Whips Out QuietPoint ATH-ANC1 Noise-Cancelling Earphones
Typically when I mention Audio-Technica it's because the company is pulling another USB turntable out of its bag of tricks. Today Audio-Technica has announced a new addition to its line of noise-cancelling headphones called the ATH-ANC1.
The new on-ear noise-cancelling earphones are designed with portability in mind and fold for storage. When the active noise-cancelling feature is on the headphones claim to block 85% of outside noise and deliver clear sound. To keep the earphones lightweight the noise-cancellation technology is in an external module attached to the cord.
This allows the earphones to be as streamlined and comfortable as possible for the wearer. Audio-Technica ships the headphones with a 1.6-foot extension cord, and airline adapter, and a AAA battery. The battery is good for up to 40 hours and the headphones weigh 3.5 ounces without the battery. The headphones will ship next month for $129.95.
