As well as netbooks, ASUS also brought along an Eee-branded backup device to CeBIT this week. The EeeNAS PC is billed as a 2TB network-attached storage device mated to a PC, with control via a 3.5-inch touchscreen on the front panel.
Underneath the touchscreen there’s a slot-loading DVD burner, for loading software and making backups. ASUS are playing the specs of the EeeNAS PC close to their chest, but we do know that it’s intended for 24/7 operation, has a near-silent 28dB noise output and comes with an uninterrupted power supply (UPS).
Multiple simultaneous connections are supported, and the ASUS EeeNAS PC can operate as a media server as well as a backup device. No news of pricing nor availability, but this is one Eee PC that we’re particularly interested in finding out more about.
