The redesigned Apple TV app arrived with the iOS 12.3 and tvOS 12.3 software updates, bringing the Apple TV Channels announced back in March, as well as an improved design, personalized recommendations, and more.

Users can access more than 100,000 TV shows and movies through iTunes, the company says, and directly sign up for popular video services ("channels"). The Apple TV channels include things like SHOWTIME, HBO, EPIX, Starz, and MTV Hits.

By signing up for the "channels" directly in the Apple TV app, you'll be able to access and manage the services collectively with your account, eliminating the need to individually toggle these subscriptions. Other Apple TV app features include Family Sharing with up to half a dozen family members, support for downloading content to watch offline, and personalized recommendations spanning more than 150 apps and services.

In addition to using the Apple TV app on the company's own hardware devices, the service is also available on the 2019 Samsung Smart TVs, as well as select 2018 models. The support is arriving in the form a firmware update. According to Samsung, the Apple TV app works 'seamlessly' with the company's own platform, including Bixby.
