Apple Watch gets bigger Sports and Link Bracelet options

If you've wanted an Apple Watch but your meaty wrists have made Apple's wearable a no-go, salvation is at hand. A new 42mm Link Bracelet Kit has quietly been added to Apple's online store, offering six extra stainless steel links that can extend the regular strap for those whose wrists are bigger than 205 mm.

Each of the links uses Apple's clever tool-free clasp. On the back, there's a small button that, when pressed with a fingernail, allows it to detach from its neighbor.

That way, strap resizing can be done without having to reach for a tiny screwdriver or a specialist tool.

Meanwhile there's also been an update to Apple's Sports Straps, which now come in a larger size too.

In addition to the S/M and M/L pack which Apple offered from launch, and which are advertised as suitable for 140-210 mm wrists, there's now a M/L and L/XL pack. That's advertised as fitting wrists from 160-245 mm.

However, for the moment you don't get the same range of colorful options that smaller-armed brethren do. The larger pack is currently offered in either black or white.

The new Sport Bands are priced at $49 for a pair, while the Link Bracelet Kit is also $49.
