Apple TV Search Adds Watch ABC, Disney Channel, XD And JR

Apple has added Disney XD, Disney Channel, Disney Jr and Watch ABC to its Siri search and universal search on the latest Apple TV, making it easier for owners to find content at those destinations through the device's interface. Now those destinations will appear as viewing options when pulling up an applicable show, for example, joining the option for iTunes and any others available.

The update surfaced today, marking the latest addition in what has been a generally slow but steady expansion. It doesn't appear the options show up in universal search outside of the United States, however. The channels included under universal search vary based on location.

With this latest addition, the channel list has increased to 15 destinations — others include FOX Now, Nat Geo TV, PBS and PBS Kids, HBO GO/NOW, Netflix, Hulu, Showtime, FX NOW, and iTunes.

This isn't the only Apple TV update to arrive in the recent past, of course, and we've been teased about planned features in the future. In recent days, for example, details about the iOS Remote app that will soon be able to replace the Apple TV remote surfaced. A few days before that, BitTorrent arrived for Apple TV.
