Apple has started selling refurbished iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus units, giving buyers the opportunity to get one of the models at a discounted rate. The iPhone 8 models were released last year, making them an excellent option for someone looking to make the switch or upgrade. Apple lists the refurbished units starting at $499 USD.READ: iPhone 8 Review

This is the first time Apps has sold refurbished iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus phones itself. The company currently lists the 64GB iPhone 8 for $499 USD, which is a $100 discount over the regular price. The larger iPhone 8 unit is $599 USD, which is still $100 off the regular retail rate.

Supply is limited at this time — there's only three units available refurbished on Apple's site right now. Inventory will wax and wane, as it does with the other refurbished models Apple sells. Customers can get refurbished MacBooks, Mac desktops, iPads, and other older iPhone units.

Listed models currently fall into the Gold, Silver, and Space Gray options. There are benefits to buying a refurbished unit straight from Apple, including a one-year warranty, Apple testing and certification, a new battery, new outer shell, and packaging in a new white box.
