Apple Music To Stream Dr Dre's Compton Album Exclusively
For one full stream of his first album in 16 years, Apple will play Dr Dre's Compton A Soundtrack. This stream will happen this Thursday – that's the 6th of August – starting at 6PM Pacific Time. We must assume there'll be breaks between music, as the stream is suggested by Apple to be taking place until 9PM Pacific Time. This first full album stream ONLY will be happening exclusively on Apple Music. After this stream – several hours later – the album will become available to the public via a number of sources, starting at midnight on the 7th.
While the title of the album "Compton A Soundtrack" might seem like it means it's a soundtrack to the film "Straight Outta Compton," it's not. At least not directly. Instead this is an album that's indirectly inspired by the film – or at least memories of Dre's life in Compton as outlined by the film. There's a separate soundtrack for the film.

Meanwhile the album "Detox" is dead. As Dr Dre suggested on the Apple Music radio show "The Pharmacy," "I'm gonna keep it 1000% with you. I don't think I did a good enough job [on that album]. I couldn't do that to my fans. I couldn't do that to myself."
Instead, Dre suggests of Compton A Soundtrack: "It's going to be my grand finale."
