Android L release today: developers first
This week Google has announced the L Developer Preview. This is the next generation of Android, coming with a "fresh, bold, and new look." This system was announced by Matias Duarte of Android for Google, coming with a look that's made for mobile, desktop, and beyond.
To attain this next generation of look – and feel – for Google's systems, Google is introducing Material Design. Here you'll find a system in which Android, Chrome, and the rest of Google's platforms can act together. Have a peek at our first Google Material Design article for more information on the UI.
Android L will be launching with a developer preview later today. Users on Nexus devices will be able to access this software through Google's developer program, and we'll likely see this system released – officially or non-officially – through the circuit by the end of the day for everyone.
This is the first glimpse of Android L we've seen at Google I/O 2014. Have a peek at our Google I/O tag portal for more information – we're here all week!
