Add New Vegas-style traits to Fallout 4

Fallout 4 is a great game, for many reasons. However, just because it’s great, doesn’t mean that it isn’t lacking in some departments. One of the things missing is the trait system, that many people enjoyed in Fallout: New Vegas. Thankfully, traits are coming back, in the form of a mod.

You probably remember Cirosan as the guy behind the famous Full Dialogue mod for Fallout 4. Thanks to that, you could actually read the entire dialogue options, instead of short snippets that might be misleading. Well he’s back, and this time he’s brought some traits with him.

If you don’t recall, traits are a double-edged sword. When you select one, you get a nice little bonus, but in exchange for something negative. For instance, one of the new traits is “Gifted” which gives you a +2 bonus to all S.P.E.C.I.A.L. stats, but you’ll gain experience at 50% of the normal rate.

In addition to a host of new traits, the creator has also added in some new perks for you to choose from. Due to the new way that perks are displayed, they won’t be added to the regular perk chart. Instead, the mod will allow you to “construct” the perks and traits at any chem station. You’ll still need to meet all of the requirements for each perk that you take, so you can’t just add them all.

If you’re interested in adding some traits to your character, and maybe a few new perks, you can download the “Traits and More Perks” mod from NexusMods
