720p Video And MiFi Tipped For Verizon DROID Incredible

Signs of an upcoming firmware update that would add 720p HD video recording functionality and the ability to act as a 3G mobile WiFi hotspot to the Verizon DROID Incredible have been spotted.  The new abilities were discovered on a test HTC Incredible loaned to a member of AndroidForums, who promptly shared some images of the two new changes.

So far, the Incredible has been limited to 800 x 480 video recording, and unlike other smartphones in Verizon's range has been unable to share its EVDO Rev.A connection with WiFi-connected clients.  Hacked ROMs have added the latter ability, but many owners are uncomfortable with rooting their handsets or, indeed, are unaware that such a technique exists.

The exact release date for the boosted firmware is unknown, and indeed HTC may not even make it public.  Still, it's a sign that HTC aren't willing to let the DROID X have things all its own way.
