2019 Volkswagen Touareg Gallery
Volkswagen is revamping its premium SUV, with the 2019 Touareg offering more power and more gadgetry, as well as more interior space. Slightly longer and wider than the outgoing model, the new Touareg promises a little slice of luxe in the SUV segment, sitting at the top of VW's refreshed line-up.
Inside, the new Touareg debuts VW's latest dashboard tech. Dubbed the Innovision Cockpit, it pairs a 12-inch digital instrumentation display with a 15-inch Discover Premium infotainment screen, in what the automaker promises will seem like a single, connected experience. There's also optional night vision, a head-up display, and a Roadwork Lane Assist system.
By shedding as much as 233 pounds, meanwhile VW is able to promise a more nimble SUV. In Europe, there'll initially be two V6 diesel engines, along with a V6 turbo gas engine and, eventually, a V8 turbodiesel. A plug-in hybrid is being readied too, initially for the Chinese market.
