2018 Jeep Wrangler Moab Edition gets official

Earlier this moth pricing rumors on the 2018 Wrangler JL Moab edition started making the rounds. Those rumors suggested that the Moab edition would cost over $50,000 to purchase making it an expensive off-roader. Jeep hasn't confirmed pricing just yet, but it has finally officially confirmed the Moab edition.

Moab builds on the Sahara model of the Wrangler JL adding more to the exterior and interior of the ride. Among the additions are 32-inch mud-terrain tires and 17-inch low gloss black painted aluminum wheels. Moab buyers also get a Rubicon hood and steel bumpers with a full-time 4WD transfer case, limited slip differential, off-road rock rails, and a Moab hood decal.

Jeep notes that the Moab name is to honor the long history that the brand shares with the annual Easter Jeep Safari event in Moab, Utah. Moab also gets LED headlights and tail lights. Headlight surrounds, grille throats, and tow hooks are painted low-gloss black. While the Rubicon rock rails are standard, buyers can opt for Sahara side steps at no additional cost.

Moab will come with a body-color hard-top as standard, buyers can opt for the Dual Top Group or a Sky One-Touch power top. Jeep will offer the Moab edition in nine colors including Granite Crystal, Billet Silver, Punk'n Metallic, Mojito!, Black, Bright White, Sting Gray, Ocean Blue Metallic and Firecracker Red.

Inside the Moab Edition includes the Leather Interior Group and Safety Group. The latter includes Blind-spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path detection and ParkView rear backup camera with dynamic grid lines. The full-time 4wd drive includes Selec-Trac 2-speed transfer case and Trac-Lok limited slip. Keyless entry, 8.4-inch touchscreen nav, and premium Alpine sound are all included. Options include the cold weather group, trailer tow, and a trail rail cargo management system.
