Jeep Wrangler JL Moab edition pricing rumor

The new Jeep Wrangler JL launched this year alongside the Wrangler JK that carried over and off-road fans are waiting for the special editions of the JL to land. A new rumor is making the rounds that suggests one of the special versions of the JL coming is called the Moab. Clearly it takes its name from the famous off-roading hot spot in Utah.

Details about the Moab JL come from a leaked pricing guide and the price is high for this model. A 4-door version rings in at $51,200 not counting the $1,495 destination charge. Gone are the days of a cheap Wrangler. For that money, buyers get a Sahara 3.6L ESS 8-speed ATX powertrain. Selec-Trac full-time transfer case (full-time 4WD), limited slip diff, steel Mopar rock rails, steel front bumper, Rubicon hood, body color hard top, and LED lighting.

The inside can be fitted with leather, 9-speaker audio with nav, safety group, and lots more. Options include a cold weather group adding heated front seats, steering wheel, and remote start. A Sky one-touch power top is offered along with dual tops and a trail management system with cargo compartment floor.

The Moab is built on the Sahara version and will be offered in several colors including granite crystal, Mojito, bright white, firecracker red, ocean blue, sting-gray, black, billet silver, and punk'N. There is no mention of upgraded axles, something that is common on fancier versions of the JK off-road fans are drawn to.

Among the options list is a larger 21.5-gallon fuel tank, dual top group, trailer towing and HD electrical group, and several other MOPAR options. One option that people planning on a lift and bigger tires will want is a hinge-gate reinforcement to prevent issues with a bigger spare tire. Official details are expected soon.
