2018 Cadillac CTS-V Glacier Metallic Edition Celebrates Brand's 115th Birthday

Cadillac has announced a new and limited edition of its CTS-V sedan that is to celebrate the 115th anniversary of the founding of the Cadillac brand. The special car is the 2018 CTS-V Glacier Metallic Edition and only 115 of the cars will be made for the 2018 model year. The car will get a special Glacier Metallic color offered only on this car.

The color is said to be a "smoky light gray" hue and along with the special paint are standard illuminated door handles, dark red Brembo brake calipers, carbon fiber package, luxury package, and 19-inch forged wheels. Those wheels are painted with Midnight Silver pockets. The interior gets some special treatment as well with Jet Black RECARO sport seats.

The car also features the Performance Data Recorder system with COSWORTH Toolbox analysis software, UltraView sunroof, and a standard rear camera mirror. The car also has standard Cadillac user experience infotainment system. Other than the fancy paint, under the hood is the same CTS-V that we have been impressed with before.

It has a 6.2L V8 engine rated for 640 hp and 630 lb-ft of torque. The fuel system is a direct injection system with cylinder deactivation for fuel economy. The transmission in the cars is an 8-speed sport automatic with Performance Algorithm Shifting. Caddy also fits the car with Advanced Performance Traction management system that was developed through a 2-year engineering program with Cadillac Racing in the Pirelli World Challenge series.

That system has five track-oriented modes from wet to race to help control the car on the track. V-Series buyers get a 2-day Cadillac V-Performance Academy training session at Spring Mountain. The 2018 Glacier Metallic Edition CTS-V carries a steep price tag of $103,885. Order banks open this month with 105 of the cars available to order from Cadillac dealers.
