Honda's Civic may not be the most glamorous car out there, nor the fastest, but there's no denying quite how important it is in the Japanese automaker's range. Persistent best-seller at retail, the Civic gallops into its 10th generation with a more striking design, higher-quality interior, and a brand-new turbocharged engine option.

That combination is what Honda is counting on to make the 2016 Civic a hit. Cabin space is up over the outgoing car, while CarPlay and Android Auto should keep the smartphone-obsessed content.

Meanwhile, later in the model year there'll be the hotly-anticipated Civic Type R, with Honda promising no dilution of the European model for the US version. Pricing kicks off at $18,640.
