Apple TV+ Gets A Price Hike, Along With Apple One, Arcade, And News+

Apple's streaming, gaming, and news services are all about to get a little more expensive. Apple TV+, the streaming service responsible for shows like "Ted Lasso," is now priced at $9.99 a month. Apple Arcade, the Xbox Game Pass-like service, will be increasing to $6.99 a month. For news aficionados, Apple News will also increase to $12.99 a month, reports CNBC.

All of those services and more encompass Apple One, and naturally, that price is increasing as well. According to Apple's website, the "Individual" Apple One plan is now priced at $19.95 a month for Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, and 50GB of iCloud storage. The "Family" plan includes everything from the individual plan, except iCloud storage has been boosted to 200GB, and up to five people can share the subscription; it is priced at $25.95 a month. Lastly, the "Premier" plan encompasses 2Tb of iCloud storage, everything from the lower tier plans, as well as Apple News+ and Apple Fitness+. It carries the hefty price tag of $37.95 a month and can also be shared by five people.

Price changes are immediate for new subscribers

Price hikes are nothing new for streaming, cloud storage, and gaming services, and it's certainly no surprise to be coming from Apple, a company known for its more aggressive business practices and price premium over the competition. However, Apple TV+ started as one of the less expensive streaming services, at $4.99 a month, and now is just about on par with every other service.

This price change comes just a day after Apple announced that it was rolling out Apple Pay Later to all of its customers in the United States. Apple is definitely at work juicing up its subscription and monthly-based services ahead of the new "Scary Fast" event the company is hosting on Monday, October 30.

Apple's sites report that the price changes are immediate for new subscribers. Additionally, CNBC states that existing customers will see the price increases to Apple TV+, Apple News, and Apple Arcade 30 days into the future.
