SlashGear's Week in Review

With a gasp and a splutter the weekend comes to a close and it's back to work and school, kiddies.  But where would we have been without some of the lovely stories to have graced these interwebs over the past seven days...

Cellphones graced our headlines with the BlackBerry 8800 breaking cover and the exclusive video demonstration of Synaptics' incredible Onyx prototype, as well as carrier news such as T-Mobile's MyFaves calling plan.  News on the T-Mobile Dash (aka HTC Excalibur) also trickled out, leaving moist brows and anxious palms all round, with the Verizon Communicator 9900 being the not-especially-photogenic subject of many rounds of spyshots.

Other stories of note have been Asus beating everyone else to the punch with the first laptop featuring a Windows SideShow supplemental display on the market, more laptop battery recalls (this time it's Fujitsu, oh and Hitachi) which does make you wonder whether there are any portable computers left actually portable, and a little to-and-fro about Sony's PS3 console, which has been raising ire thanks to the absence of rumble technology in their controllers.  Lest Microsoft snigger behind its corporate hand about the Japanese giant's plight, let's not forget the craptastic news about Zune's severely crippled WiFi support.  Bad form, Microsoft, bad form.

All that in a week?!  Excuse me while I go for a quick lie down.
