ZTE Warp 7 packs in quad-core processor and 5.5-inch display on a budget

Pre-paid mobile carrier Boost Mobile has a new smartphone that slots into its Warp series for people shopping on a budget to check out. The smartphone is called the ZTE Warp 7 and the smartphone is available to purchase online right now for $99.99. It will be available in stores on September 5 presumably at the same price. This isn't a high-end smartphone, but for the price it does have some nice specifications.

"Consumers continue to anticipate the Warp family of products each year and we are proud to introduce the next device in the series with the ZTE Warp 7," said Lixin Cheng, chairman and CEO of ZTE USA. "We continue to push the boundaries of what an affordable premium device is and the Warp 7 available with Boost Mobile incorporates top features at a budget friendly price."

Dimensions are 6.07" H x 2.99" W x 0.36" D and it weighs 5.6 ounces. The smartphone has a 5.5-inch screen with HD resolution covered in Gorilla Glass to help stop cracks and scratches. The processor is a 64-bit 1.2GHz Snapdragon quad-core paired with 2GB of RAM. Warp 7 also has 16GB of internal storage.

Internal storage can be expanded with memory cards up to 64GB in capacity. The operating system for the Warp 7 is Android 6.0 and power for the device comes from a 3000 mAh internal battery good for up to 26 hours of talk time. The rear camera is a 13MP unit that can capture 1080p video and a 5MP front camera for selfies. The phone is capable of roaming in Mexico and can operate on the new Unlimited Unhook'd plan that Boost Mobile offers.
