Zipbuds Slide earbuds aim to erase cable tangles
Zipbuds is aiming to improve upon its tangle-free audio offerings with the new Slide, a pair of zipper-toting earbuds with a slide that merges the two cables into one. "Not one more second should be wasted on untangling earbuds," the company said.
Rather than an actual zipper design, the Slide uses something like what you get on sliding freezing bags, with the two cables sealing together when the slide is pushed upwards, and unsealed when it is pulled back down. This makes for a flat cable.
The earbuds component features the company's ComfortFit2, which are angled to help keep them in place in the ears, putting the support on the outer part of the ear. There's ZBX High Performance Drivers, as well as an integrated microphone and remote.
The Slide earbuds are being funded through Kickstarter, where they currently have $19,821 out of the $50,000 goal (with 28 days remaining). Early backers can get a pair with a $29 pledge, which is below the MSRP of $44.99 USD.
