Xperia Z4 Tablet Accidentally Revealed Early By Sony
Sony leaked its own product information about the new Xperia Z4 Tablet ahead of its official release. Sony's Xperia Lounge app showed the new Xperia Z4 Tablet before it was taken down. At least the source should be reliable because it's coming directly from Sony. The news just came a little sooner than Sony would have liked. As for the leaked details about improvements over the previous model, it looks like it will have a 2K display, a faster processor, and longer battery life according to the photos.
It appears that this may be a 10-inch tablet, which would be the newer model for the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact. Sony already has an Xperia Z3 tablet and smartphone, so the Xperia Z4 tablet is likely to have an accompanying smartphone as well, although the Xperia Z4 smartphone might be announced at a later time after Mobile World Congress 2015.
There isn't a description of the thickness, but judging from the photos, it might possibly be as thin as the Xperia Z3 Compact Tablet, which is only 6.5mm. There is no word on which Android OS it will come loaded with, but consumers are crossing their fingers for Lollipop.
We told you the Z4 smartphone might not be ready for the upcoming MWC 2015, which could be why we're only seeing news about the Z4 Tablet instead of the smartphone. The date of the leaked release is for March 3rd, 2015. This guarantees that the new tablet will be making an appearance at next week's Mobile World Conference 2015. SlashGear will be at the MWC 2015 next week for live coverage and hands on reporting of all the latest announcements by Sony and other mobile device manufacturers.
