Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum sucks, but in a good way

Xiaomi is mostly about smartphones and tablets, but that isn't all the company has up its sleeve with the unveiling of a new robot vacuum cleaner. The device is called the Mi Robot Vacuum and it has lots of cool tech inside that will allow you to get clean floors without any effort. The device has LDS intelligent path planning, ultra-high 1800Pa air pressure suction, smartphone controls, and real time cleaning status.

Power for the robot comes from a 5200 mAh battery that allows cleaning for 2.5 hours at a time. Once you have the vacuum setup in your home you can turn it on from afar and have it clean so your floors are nice and shiny when you get home. You can also change cleaning modes from your smartphone. Once you start the cleaning the app lets, you keep an eye on the cleaning in real time.

The app also allows you to set cleaning schedules to ensure that your home stays clean. Cleaning modes include standard, active, and quiet modes for times when you need to clean when others in the home are sleeping. Cleaning schedule options include daily, weekend, or weekday options.

Inside the vacuum are three dedicated processors that allow the device to receive data in real time to process and calculate the cleaning path. The processors include an Allwinner ARM Cortex quad-core processor, STMicroelectornics ARM Cortex co-processor, and a TI LDS image processor. Those processors allow the vacuum to plot the best path for the best cleaning rather than randomly wandering around the home. The speed of the side brushes can spin at 130 spins/second up to 330 and the vacuum chooses the best speed for the locations. Xiaomi also integrates ultrasonic and cliff sensors to keep the vacuum from falling down the stairs. The Mi Robot Vacuum sells for RMB 1699 (255 USD).
