Xbox set to get Wii-like with motion control

Well, not exactly Wii-like. If a leaked image is to be believed, Microsoft has a new motion controlling system in the works to compete against what the Nintendo Wii is offering. However, this isn't set up like the Wii in that you can wave around a remote and the sensor will pick up the motion. Rather, the Xbox system simply detects your body's movements and interprets them on the screen.

The image shows a bar that features two sensors, a webcam and a microphone. This works by picking up your body movements, so if your character needs to punch, you can actually punch. You could also perform general operations like scrolling.

The system could be used for video chats and participating in games that require interaction like trivia games. We don't know if this is real or not, but the photo does show off what looks to be a prototype. And with E3 just a month away, we're due for something interesting coming from Xbox, especially with motion control slated to appear for the PS3 as well.
