Xbox One S Fortnite Bundle offers something Sony can't

Epic Games' has run into some bad press over in Android land but that has hardly made a dent in Fortnite's popularity, much less its profitability. With Samsung's exclusivity on mobile coming to a close, it's time for one of two of the gaming world's biggest and newest darlings to turn its attention elsewhere again. In this case, towards Microsoft's Xbox One console that is getting its very own Fortnite-themed bundle, mostly with in-game content.

So what are you getting with the Xbox One S Fortnite Bundle? Well, you're getting a no longer rare white Xbox Box One S, of course, with a 1 TB hard drive. There'd also a matching white Xbox Wireless Controller and a copy of Fortnite. The real goodies, however, are inside the game.

For one, you get the full monty Eon set, which includes the Eon Character Outfit, Epic Aurora Glider, and Rare Resonator Pickaxe. You also get 2,000 V-Bucks to spend any way you wish. And to sweeten the deal, Microsoft is throwing a month's worth of Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold.

Microsoft also couldn't resist making a subtle jab at Sony, the way it and Nintendo have done a few months back. It mentions the fun times of engaging in cross-network, cross-platform play with Fortnite players on PC, Mac, Nintendo Switch, and even Android and iOS. Yep, no PlayStation there. Not that they didn't invite Sony to the party.

The Xbox One S Fortnite Bundle will retail for $299.99. It will be available starting this week from Microsoft and Best Buy in the US and retailers worldwide. And just in the nick of time, because Fortnite's big Season 6 update lands this week.
